Sweet Georgia Brown / Take Out Some Insurance
History The date of this recording, May 24, 1962, was documented in Hans Olof Gottfridsson's 1997 book The Beatles: from Hamburg to Star-Club, contradicting the usual theory that it was from 1961 like the other Tony Sheridan recordings. This song was recorded at the Studio Rahlstedt in Hamburg. Roy Young plays piano and the arrangement is by Paul. The instrumental track, including Beatles backing vocals, was recorded May 24 to 2-track in a live mix, and Tony Sheridan added the lead vocal June 7, as a second generation tape. This recording may have been inspired by the Coaster's 1957 release. US Releases
Take Out Some Insurance On Me Baby History Another Tony Sheridan with the Beatles recording from Hamburg in 1961. Like Ain't She Sweet, this recording took place on June 24, at the Studio Rahlstedt. This song was also known as 'If You Love Me Baby', and the Sheridan / Beatle recording was originally released in England under this title. Interestingly enough, Jimmy Reed's version of Take Out Some Insurance On Me Baby was released in the United States by Vee Jay Records in April 1959. US Releases
